In the historical centre of Riga, at Blaumana Street 12, there is a residential house built in a bright eclectic style hiding modern facilities and security behind its historical façade. This place is one of the most respectable in the city and is included on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here we have luxurious Art Nouveau buildings, foreign embassies, prestigious offices and education institutions, a shopping mall, as well as the most elegant restaurants and cosy cafes of Riga. It is a mixture of active business environment and refined cultural life. The beautiful house was built in 1897 according to a design of architect Karl Johann Felsko. "Blaumana residence" is considered to be one of the best works of the leading architect of the 19th century Karl Felsko, who lived and created his works at the time of change in arts. The buildings designed by him are notable for their detailed façade elements – cornices, banisters and volutes made in traditional style. Renovation works are currently ongoing in the house. The renovation process will give the façade bright elements to extend its stylistic range, giving the classic design a modern look. Its interior design corresponds to the historical context of the building: minimalism, laconic shapes, neutral colours and natural textures. Engineering networks will be fully replaced, and an optical internet connection will be established in the building. Each apartment will have its own heat counter. 60 apartments will be created in three stairwells, which will have interior finishing meeting modern standards and requirements to the interior – wooden and plastic glass units, bathrooms tiled with French tiles of the highest class and equipped with qualitative bathroom fixtures. “Classic elegance with a modern twist…” – this is how the concept of interior solutions can be characterised. Apartments have different layouts and an area from 35 m2 to 128 m2. For convenience of inhabitants an elevator will be available in all three stairwells. The property will be divided into apartment properties with corresponding undivided share of land, and each apartment will have its own land register certificate. Benches, flower pots with greenery and bike racks will be installed in the yard of the house for convenience of its inhabitants. The project will be commissioned in January 2020.
